Summary

In this #1 New York Times bestseller, the Women's Murder Club gets ready for a quiet Christmas -- until a mysterious killer decides to terrorize the city。

As the holidays approach, Detective Lindsay Boxer and her friends in the Women's Murder Club have much to celebrate。 Crime is down。 The medical examiner's office is quiet。 Even the courts are showing some Christmas spirit。 And the news cycle is so slow that journalist Cindy Thomas is on assignment to tell a story about the true meaning of the season for San Francisco。

Then a fearsome criminal known only as "Loman" seizes control of the headlines。 Solving crimes never happens on schedule, but as this criminal mastermind unleashes credible threats by the hour, the month of December is upended for the Women's Murder Club。 Avoiding tragedy is the only holiday miracle they seek。

Typical Patterson's read。Exciting, tense, fast。I’m glad we gtt to know more about Lindsay’s family again, but sadly less about her friends。It’s just a little weird to read about Christmas in mid-May, isn’t it :) ? I enjoyed the book overall but I felt that the actual Heist/Robbery was a bit vague and flimsy。 Other than that, the usual quality Women's Murder Club story。 🙂 I enjoyed the book overall but I felt that the actual Heist/Robbery was a bit vague and flimsy。 Other than that, the usual quality Women's Murder Club story。 🙂 。。。more

I have read books 1-18。 This has been a very engaging series of murder- investigation with or by a group of professional women who band together to provide various attributes that help "solve" the crime。 It's been great getting "to know' each character, their separate personal lives then the connection of the "club" members to the murder。 I've "devoured" the first 18 books, but as noted in my question to other readers, this book falls noticeable short of the others- If you like a fast action boo I have read books 1-18。 This has been a very engaging series of murder- investigation with or by a group of professional women who band together to provide various attributes that help "solve" the crime。 It's been great getting "to know' each character, their separate personal lives then the connection of the "club" members to the murder。 I've "devoured" the first 18 books, but as noted in my question to other readers, this book falls noticeable short of the others- If you like a fast action book, then read the first 18! 。。。more

Lindsay Boxer is a Lieutenant in the San Francisco PD。 She always catches the most interesting cases, but this is Christmas。 Lindsay would like to have a holiday off。 As the season gets underway, tons of petty crimes are carried out。 The police are spread thin and there are tips from informants that Loman is going to carry off a huge heist。 As Lindsay and her partner rush to solve crimes, she wonders if she will get to see her baby Julie on Christmas。 This book is fast paced and enjoyable。 I per Lindsay Boxer is a Lieutenant in the San Francisco PD。 She always catches the most interesting cases, but this is Christmas。 Lindsay would like to have a holiday off。 As the season gets underway, tons of petty crimes are carried out。 The police are spread thin and there are tips from informants that Loman is going to carry off a huge heist。 As Lindsay and her partner rush to solve crimes, she wonders if she will get to see her baby Julie on Christmas。 This book is fast paced and enjoyable。 I personally love this series because the mysteries are thrilling but not hard to follow。 After reading so many of these books, the characters are well known and their back stories。 Each of these books can be read as a stand alone book。 However, are best suited as a series。 。。。more

Great Series! My favourite Patterson series! #1228。

I most always enjoy James Patterson's books, but not this one。 This is at least the 2nd time the lawyer is one story and everyone else a different story。 And neither one was good。 I still have no idea why the bad guy kept giving clues。。。。 made no sense。 I most always enjoy James Patterson's books, but not this one。 This is at least the 2nd time the lawyer is one story and everyone else a different story。 And neither one was good。 I still have no idea why the bad guy kept giving clues。。。。 made no sense。 。。。more

3。5 star。 But it's close to 3 star。When I started this series, I've loves it。 Murder and justice。 Books made me think lots of things。 But after Lindsay got married to Joe, story became more something international。 I'm glad Jacobi is back little, but I wanted to read more of him and Clair。 3。5 star。 But it's close to 3 star。When I started this series, I've loves it。 Murder and justice。 Books made me think lots of things。 But after Lindsay got married to Joe, story became more something international。 I'm glad Jacobi is back little, but I wanted to read more of him and Clair。 。。。more

It 's hit and miss with me reading this series so I was happy that in the prologue the women and their other half were re-introduced。 For the most part I did like this book。 There were two stories going on at the same time and it was easy enough to keep up with both (I listened to the audio version)。 My biggest gripe about this book was the very end。 It had absolutely NOTHING to do with the rest of the book。 I got the feeling that the book wasn't *long* enough, so the author just added another l It 's hit and miss with me reading this series so I was happy that in the prologue the women and their other half were re-introduced。 For the most part I did like this book。 There were two stories going on at the same time and it was easy enough to keep up with both (I listened to the audio version)。 My biggest gripe about this book was the very end。 It had absolutely NOTHING to do with the rest of the book。 I got the feeling that the book wasn't *long* enough, so the author just added another little event to lengthen the story。 This took from the rest of the book。 。。。more

This book really kept me guessing。 Lots of misdirection in the story。 Plus a criminal that tends to leave no clues but the ones he wants found。 It was a fun book to read。 A nice Christmas surprise at the end。

I’ve read all the WMC books and this was the most pointless of the lot。 Fast paced story to。。。。。。。。nowhere。 Nothing I cared about happened。 Maxine at the moment appears to be mailing it in。 She knows a large number of people will read her next episode (myself included) so she can put out a DUD every now and then, but it is becoming to frequent。 I will read book #20, but if it does not get back to 15th Affair and/or 16th Seduction level, I may have to simply quit this series。The secondary plot st I’ve read all the WMC books and this was the most pointless of the lot。 Fast paced story to。。。。。。。。nowhere。 Nothing I cared about happened。 Maxine at the moment appears to be mailing it in。 She knows a large number of people will read her next episode (myself included) so she can put out a DUD every now and then, but it is becoming to frequent。 I will read book #20, but if it does not get back to 15th Affair and/or 16th Seduction level, I may have to simply quit this series。The secondary plot story was useless and incomplete。 There was zero reason to include the epilogue addition to the story。 。。。more

Really liked the investigation in this one。 Got frustrated right along with the crew trying to track down Loman。 I was just left missing Claire as she isn’t really part of this one。 Since she is my favorite of the Women’s Murder Club it was a disappointment not to read more about her。
